The Book of Enoch was one of the most widely accepted books and believed to be inspired by God. This was acceptable in Jewish culture up to the birth of Jesus. Christians in the first century accepted the writings of the book of Enoch as an authentic scripture, including the part about the fallen angels and their final judgment. Here is a brief passage of the introductory from The Book of Enoch. The opening verses of the Book explains that the revelations in this book were not meant for Enoch’s generation. Enoch states he saw that which will not take place in this generation , rather a remote generation, but in a generation which is to succeed at a distant period, on account of the elect. Perhaps this book was mean for our generation, as it is widely available now after being hidden for nearly a millennia. The other part of the book often the topic of debate is regarding Fallen Angels and having children with woman. For more information regarding Angels click here.

Here is chapter 7 verse 11-14 in the first Book of Enoch:

Fallen Angels
Fallen Angels took for them wives.

Then they took wives, each choosing for himself; whom they began to approach, and with whom they cohabited; teaching them sorcery, incantations, and the dividing of roots and trees. 11 And the women conceiving brought forth giants,  12 Whose stature was each three hundred cubits. These devoured all which the labor of men produceduntil it became impossible to feed them; 13 When they turned themselves against men, to devour them; 14 And began to injure birds, beasts, reptiles, and fishes, to eat their flesh one after another, (8) and to drink their blood. This is the reason for the flood according to scripture, when the land was corrupt and filled with these “Men of Renown”. To add to the mystery surrounding the prophet Enoch and his book, Enoch is not only mentioned in the bible he is quoted by Jesus in your bible as you will see further into article. For now lets see what Enoch says about how man has fallen into sin by learning from the Watchers or Fallen Angels. Enoch describes the Fallen Ones by name and what sin they taught man.

Chapter 7/9 These are the names of their chiefs:

The Book of Enoch often referred as the book for future generations has been a controversial subject. In fact try bringing it up as a topic of discussion at your local church. Many will avoid, dismiss, or even say it is blasphemous. It is important to know how important Enoch was to God, he is the only man in history who never tasted death, was the seventh man ever created, and was considered a friend to God.

Enoch Prophet
Enoch was a friend of God

We are not here to sway you one way or the other, but rather try to bring light on an important read, that was once considered an authentic word of God. The earliest literature of the so-called “Church Fathers” is filled with references to this mysterious book. The early second century “Epistle of Barnabus” makes much use of the Book of Enoch. Second and Third Century “Church Fathers” like Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origin and Clement of Alexandria all make use of the Book of Enoch. Tertullian (160-230 C.E) even called the Book of Enoch “Holy Scripture”. The Ethiopic Church even added the Book of Enoch to its official canon. It was widely known and read the first three centuries after Christ. This and many other books became discredited after the council of Laodicea Lets look refer to the bible and how Jesus is said to quote directly from Enoch.

Jesus and Enoch
Jesus is the Truth and light.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. (Mat 5:5) The elect shall have light, joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9})

the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the son (John 5:22). the principal part of the judgment was assigned to him, the Son of man. (Enoch 69:27 {68:39})

shall inherit everlasting life (Mat. 19:29) those who will inherit eternal life (Enoch 40:9 {40:9})

“Woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. (Luke 6:24) Woe to you who are rich, for in your riches have you trusted; but from your riches you shall be removed. (Enoch 94:8 {93:7}).

Ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Mat. 19:28) I will place each of them on a throne of glory (Enoch 108:12 {105:26})

Summary of some of Enoch’s Book

Enoch 7th from Adam

The Book of the Watchers (chs. 1-36). Enoch is a righteous man who has received heavenly visions. The book is a collection of revelations about divine judgment. It describes the rebellion of angels. The fallen angels, called “Watchers,” have sexual intercourse with human women, who give birth to a race of wicked giants. The giants lay waste to the earth and humanity, and so become the occasion for the flood, where they are destroyed. But once their demonic spirits are released from their dead bodies, these demons wreak havoc in the world until the end time of judgment.

The Book of the Similitudes (or Parables; chs. 37-71). Enoch again receives heavenly visions, which are interpreted by angels. The primary character of these revelations is the “son of man.” Other titles employed to name this messiah figure are “the Chosen One” (the most common title), God’s “Anointed One,” and “the Righteous One.” This heavenly being is God’s agent for the last judgment and vindication of the righteous.

The Book of Astronomical Writings (or Heavenly Luminaries, chs. 72-82). Visions of heavenly and earthly occurrences advocate a 364-day solar calendar, as opposed to the controversial lunar calendar. Enoch describes to his son Methuselah his journey through the stars above the earth, guided by the angel Uriel.

Book One Chapter 7 Enoch

1And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they taught them charms2 and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants. And they3 became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed4 all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against5 them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and6  fish, and to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.

He done, who hath taught all unrighteousness on earth and revealed the eternal secrets which were (preserved) in heaven, which7men were striving to learn: And Semjaza, to whom Thou hast given authority to bear rule over his associates. And they have gone to the daughters of men upon the earth, and have slept with the9 women, and have defiled themselves, and revealed to them all kinds of sins. And the women have10 borne giants, and the earth has thereby been filled with blood and unrighteousness. And now, behold, the souls of those who have died are crying and making their suit to the gates of heaven, and their lamentations have ascended: and cannot stop because of the lawless deeds which are11 wrought on the earth. And Thou knowest all things before they come to pass, and Thou sees these things and Thou dost suffer them, and Thou dost not say to us what we are to do to them in regard to these.’
